Can we still use backups, CSV files and file sharing as before?
Yes, you can. In that case we hand over the desktop icon instead of the app icon.
When the desktop icon is pressed, the desktop of the Azure Virtual Machine (Windows Server) opens as it is. It looks the same as a PC in the office, so backups, bank data links, CSV import and export, file sharing, linked software and the browser can all be used just as before.
The more your customer already works this way, the better this form fits. There are very many jobs that do not end with one piece of business software. You do not have to tell such customers that "going to the cloud means the current way of working stops."
The icon you hand over can be chosen by your company for each end user. Someone who only uses the business software can have the app icon; someone who needs more than the software can have the desktop icon. You do not have to give everybody the same one.
